Phagocytic action (blood part 2)

Phagocytic is a type of blood cell (white blood cell) which ingest and destroy harmful micro-organism that enters the blood. They help to remove broken-down dead tissues in the body. The white blood cell behave just like amoeba does when it ingest food particles. In their fight against harmful micro-organisms, some white blood cell are killed. These form the pus that are found around wounds.
